There’s an old story about learning photography, or pottery or whatever. The story isn’t important, but the moral is that practice makes perfect. I realized that my main obstacle to building games isn’t coming up with something interesting to build, but how to express it in the language of the tools I’m given (Unity in this case). So I’ve opted to focus on taking relatively simple, existing games and implementing them. I’m sure that thousands of great developers have done this already, and I take it as a rite of passage.

I followed a fairly straight forward tutorial series here, and cut a few corners along the way. I also added a speed-up mechanic to make the game get harder as you collect more fruit, which has the side-effect of making the move sound a little obnoxious.
